FAQ
-
What exactly are spent grains? When a brewer makes beer they use all-natural barley, rye, oats, and wheat. Once they have finished using them, they consider these grains to be ‘spent’ because they can no longer use them for any other purpose and they frequently end up in the garbage. We use them as the base for our treats because they are jam-packed with fiber & minerals.
-
Where can I buy Oliver’s Beer Biscuits? You can always purchase Oliver’s Beer Biscuits here on website, but they are also available at several Metro Detroit pet stores as well as breweries across Michigan.
-
What ingredients are in the treats? We only use simple, all-natural ingredients including pumpkin, peanut butter, and carrots for flavor. We include other healthy ingredients that could otherwise end up in a landfill, like spent grains and beef heart.
-
Is there actually beer in these treats? No, there is no beer in our treats. We recycle the grains that are used during the brewing process. When they make beer, they use grains in the ‘mash’; the liquid that the grains are steeped in later goes on to become beer after several more steps and a few weeks of fermentation.
-
Can I give these to other pets (cats, etc?)"Some of our treat flavors can be used for other animals. We've had customers purchase our pumpkin peanut butter flavor for their horses before.
